A complicated region in Cassiopeia with 5 Sharpless Catalog objects. Sh-153 is the bright feature in the middle with the small and very bright Sh-152 to the right. Lower and to the right is the chain of Sharpless Sh-147, Sh-148 and Sh-149.

Sh-152 and Sh-153 are clearly related and are ionized by a O9V star. Sh 2-147, Sh 2-148, Sh 2-14 are part of the same molecular cloud.

The frame also holds the supernova remnant G109.1-1.0 to the left of Sh-152/153, however there are only minor hints at interacting with the molecular clouds in the region.
