Another trip out with the CLS filter and the Artemis in 2x2 binning. The nights are starting to kick in now... the final frame on this image is timed at 3am - aout 2 hours total exposure time, with no measurable brightening at the end. I actually crawled into bed and slept for an hour whilst this was imaging... waking breifly to clear some condensation from the inside of the guidescope when Guidedog started barking. Some flexure somewhere kept the exposure times down, and I have purposely pushed the processing and kept the blackpoint a little bright to draw out some of the fainter stuff.
Deeper than my previous effort but the SC3 shot, but perhaps not as attractive. I think this black and white image is a bit, urm, "flat".
Captured in Artemis Capture. Calibrated and stacked in Maxim. DDP in maxim. Post processing in photoshop. Upsized slighty, which as softened the stars a smidge.
This image was autoguided using my 400mm focal length refractor and my black and white SC1 webcam.
