Apparent RA: 18 53 35.1  Apparent Dec: +33 01 47
Constellation: Lyra

Interesting day with a trip to visit Greg at the New Forest Observatory which was useful and instructive for both of us. Returning home, a break in the clouds allowed me to test some tweaks that I'd made to the focuser and the mirror cell on the Newtonian. Something has slipped on the mirror cell and all the stars had gone double. Seem to have fixed that, although guiding is still poor - I'm certain that the RA axis keeps lifting the scope in DEC at certain points... better get on and finish the new mount. Anyhow: Clouds stayed away long enough to grab 40 minutes or so on the Ring nebula with the 6nm Ha filter on - I just happened to be pointing this way!

Captured in ArtemisCapture, calibrated in ImagetoolsCa, combined in maxim, thuggery in photoshop. Total integration time 40 mins.

This image was autoguided using my homemade off axis guider and my black and white SC1 webcam.
