Spring galaxy season is here. Before the clocks change and the nights shorten, I've decided to do a few galaxy pictures. Here is M51. Focus and guiding where a bit out, and the strong wind didn't help. I have not bettered any previous attempt at this object, but I am pleased to get close to my earlier efforts!

Captured in ArtemisCapture, calibrated in ImagetoolsCa, combined in maxim, thuggery in photoshop. Total integration time 3.5 hours.
This image was autoguided using my homemade off axis guider and my black and white SC1 webcam.
