Once again, experimenting with the 200mm SLR lens, Astrodon 6nm Ha filter and the Artemis 285 CCD camera. I run some focus v-curve runs on bright star, and then decided to capture some exposures of The Flaming Star Nebula. However, just as I was going to issue that GOTO command, I noticed that the 1805 complex was close to zenith... I had decided that I had to have a quick peek and see what this region looked like in wide field.
I captured 3 frames of 10 minutes each in 2x2 binning mode. The Artemis sucks up the photons with the big 13um virtual pixels making a nice image in not very much time.
It is nice to view and compare the close up Heart Of the Heart IC 1805 image that I took in Decmeber.
Captured in ArtemisCapture, calibrated in ImagetoolsCa, DDP in maxim, thuggery in photoshop.
This image was autoguided using my 400mm focal length refractor and my black and white SC1 webcam.
