IC405 Flaming Star Nebula

The skies cleared around 9.30pm last night, so I tried a few shorter exposures with my 200mm SLRs. This lens came from ebay for about £5 and has sat in the bottom of a drawer for years. Recently I've got it setup with the Artemis 285 and the 6nm Ha filter to try some wide fields.

Only 2 exposures - each was 20mins, on the flaming star region - then it transited and I moved on to something else.

Captured in ArtemisCapture, calibrated in ImagetoolsCa, DDP in maxim, thuggery in photoshop.

This image was autoguided using my 400mm focal length refractor and my black and white SC1 webcam.
